Barbara S. Boatwright, Ph.D.

Barbara graduated with Honors from Vanderbilt University in Psychology and Special Education. She worked as a Behavior Specialist in Memphis, Tennessee prior to completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Memphis. After an Internship with the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina, Barbara worked at the Atlanta Counseling Center, where she was introduced to the integration of Christianity into Clinical Psychology.

Barbara has maintained a private practice in Mt Pleasant since 1994. She specializes in therapy that incorporates Biblical Truth to promote healing and transformation. Recently, Barbara has pursued advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy – the most scientifically proven model to date for successful marriage counseling. She is now focusing her clinical experience in training clinicians and leadership counseling.

Barbara has been married to Dr. John Boatwright for twenty-eight years and they have two adult children. She has enjoyed numerous speaking engagements over the years and is available to speak on: Marriage, Parenting, Forgiveness, and the Father Heart of God. As Executive Director, Barbara is not currently seeing patients but oversees the clinical practice as well as provides supervision for all Life Resources' therapists.
