St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church Men's Group

The St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church Men's Group May Dinner meeting will be held on Monday, May 15th at 6:30PM at LIDI Restaurant.

Their guest speaker will be our own, Dr. Barbara Boatwright, Clinical Psychologist and Executive Director of Life Resources. Dr. Boatwright’s topic will be “Created for Connection with God and One Another,” with emphasis on how to better connect with your spouse. The relationship between husband and wife is designed by God to provide emotional protection and a safe haven from the storms in life. All too often, this relationship becomes one of the greatest sources of our wounding. Her presentation will equip you with tools to foster a more secure connection with your spouse. 

Barbara completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Special Education from Vanderbilt University and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Memphis. After an Internship with the Department of Psychiatry at MUSC, she worked at the Atlanta Counseling Center, where she was introduced to the integration of Christianity into Clinical Psychology.

Barbara has maintained a private practice in Mt. Pleasant since 1994 specializing in therapy that incorporates Biblical Truth to promote emotional and relational healing and transformation. She also has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy – the most scientifically proven model to date for successful marriage counseling. Barbara serves as the Executive Director of Life Resources and is currently focusing her time in training clinicians in a Christian integrated model of therapy and consulting with area leaders.

Here's the agenda for the evening:

  • 7:00p – Opening Prayer + Dinner served
  • 7:30p – Dr. Boatwright’s Presentation
  • 8:30p – Adjourn

CHM Level 3 leads prayer ministers through topics such as: Healing of Addictions, Restoring Sexual Wholeness, Understanding the Emotions, Ministering to the Seriously Ill and Spiritual Warfare. St. Michael's Church Day of Healing Prayer

Join us on Saturday, March 18th starting at 9:00 am for St. Michael's Church's Day of Healing Prayer  at St. Michael's Church for 'Renewing the Mind: Neuroscience and the Power of Prayer.' This year's speaker will be The Rev. Jason Hamshaw, he is currently serving at Old St. Andrew’s in West Ashley and graduated from Oak Hill Theological Seminary in 2007, in North London, England where he grew up.

Days of Healing Prayer provide opportunities to hear teachings on prayer and to receive healing prayer. These Saturdays dedicated to prayer are offered for St. Michael’s parishioners as well as the wider community, as an outreach, sharing the healing power of God’s love poured out through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. Typically, two Days of Healing Prayer are offered every year. Some Days of Healing Prayer have featured special speakers as well, including Norma Dearing, Rick Belser, Barbara Shlemon Ryan, Nigel Mumford, and Joanne Ellison.
