2016 SC Psychologically Healthy Award Ceremony

  • Cathedral Church of St. Luke & St. Paul 126 Coming Street Charleston, SC, 29403 United States (map)

Life Resources is excited to announce that we were one of three South Carolina businesses to be awarded the 2016 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award (PHWA) by the South Carolina Psychological Association (SCPA). To celebrate, we will be hosting an award ceremony on Monday, May 16, 2016 in the Wellbrock Parish Hall of the Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul in downtown Charleston. The public is invited to attend and is open to anyone looking to hear more about the work we are doing in the Lowcountry.

The PHWA recognizes companies that stand out for their facilitation of a psychologically heathy workplace. Nominees are evaluated based on five areas: employee involvement, work-life balance, employee growth and development, health and safety, and employee recognition. The award program highlights a variety of workplaces, including large and small, profit and non-profit organizations. Candidates undergo an arduous application process that culminates in a site visit for finalists requiring confidential personal interviews with employees throughout the company.

Dr. Leslie Bessellieu, chairperson from SCPA award program, and Dr. David Mulligan will present the award to our Founder and Director, Dr. Barbara Boatwright, and staff at the ceremony on May 16 from 5:30-6:30 pm. The event will feature a presentation of the award and a brief explanation of Life Resources’ mission as a key resource to the Charleston community. This will serve as a forerunner event leading up to The Gathering, our annual fundraising gala that takes place in the fall.

Come celebrate with light hors d'oeuvres and wine to learn about the healing and growth that is happening here at Life Resources. Parking will be available in the Cathedral’s parking lot, located at 126 Coming Street.  If you would like to RSVP to this event, email your contact information to We hope to see you there!
