Ryan O'Farrell, Psy.D.

Postdoctoral Psychologist

Ryan graduated from George Fox University with his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He did his internship at the Biola Counseling Center in La Mirada, California, where he worked with both students at Biola University and community members in the greater La Mirada area. Ryan is passionate about helping others heal by offering clinically sound counseling that is rooted in the Gospel. He believes very strongly that those who seek counseling are not problems to be fixed, but are people with stories to be known and cared for. He seeks to provide an atmosphere where you and your story can be known, because as philosopher Alasdair MacIntyre put it, you must know what story you are a part of before you can know what to do next.

Ryan has worked with a breadth of personal concerns, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, panic attacks, men's issues, identity issues, and relationship problems. His current research interest involves how to best assist those who struggle with process addictions (such as pornography).

Ryan grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and has lived in California, Oregon, and Washington state. He loves quiet evenings spent reading and drinking tea and is an avid sports fan, especially of the San Francisco 49ers and the Golden State Warriors. He is also committed to being like Switzerland when it comes to the USC and Clemson rivalry.

Ryan and his wife Chelsea have been married for 6 years and have two young children and therefore have no quiet evenings to read and drink tea.
